DIY Advent Calendar Wreath
November 18, 2022
Hi friends, I finished this years advent calendar and I just love how it turned out! I always have so much fun making these. My inner scrapbooking self comes out. Who else use to scrapbook all the time?
This year I used a $5 tinsel wreath from Five Below. I pulled off 2 of the big red ornaments and added a couple of my own pink ones. I then added glitter to the big green ornaments.. And all the little ornaments that came on the wreath I left as is.
Here is what the wreath looked like when I bought it…

I then painted my tags and numbers the colors that I wanted them and let them dry. Once they were dry I added a few fun things to some of them like velvet ribbon (I use this ribbon for so many things), star ribbon, you could add bells, I used some Christmas cupcake toppers and just cut the stick off, get creative with things you have.
Once I was done with my numbers, I used both mini clothes pins and regular size clothes pins. And attached them to my wreath in the order that I wanted them, counting down to Christmas. I then added some glue on my numbers and glitter to each one. I added the glitter to my numbers once they were on my wreath but you could also add the glitter before you attach them.
I hung the wreath in Sydnies room above her desk. Starting December she can unclip one of the numbers and turn it in for a little treat & bible verse, counting down to Christmas.
Here are some of the supplies you could use to create your own. You could also do this with the wall hanging pocket bag and add your numbers and treats in the pockets (I linked a couple options below.) A fun project for the weekend!
All of these crafty items I save in bins and use for other projects too, once you have them it doesn’t cost you as much each time to create something. For instance all these red and pink things will be cute used again for a Valentines craft next.
