Sydnie Turns Six!

April 17, 2018

Where has the time gone, it feels like yesterday Sydnie was born! She is the baby of the family and our last child. Six just feels so grown up, and not just to me but even Sydnie is feeling & acting so much older these days. I love to see her grow but at the same time I wish I could keep her small forever. For her party she knew just what she wanted. She asked for a Unicorn rainbow party this year with “lots of candy” (if you know Sydnie at all the candy request did not come as a shock) Her birthday party surely did not disappoint! She had lots of sweets, unicorn ice cream sundaes, unicorn cupcakes & a rainbow cake.

For Sydnie I had a custom unicorn headband made from The Daydream Republic & then for her friends I made unicorn horn party hats using white card stock ,tissue paper and gold glitter!

For the table I used a white linen table cloth and sprinkled it with the most amazing artisan confetti from Shop Studio Pep The number 6 rose gold ballon and star ballons we purchased from Party City. The extra large white and gold confetti ballon was also from Shop Studio Pep and I tied the most amazing tassel garland on it from Glam Fete . On the wall I hung a gold glitter “Happy Birthday” banner from Glitter Party Co and from the chandelier I strung gold star garland I found at Target.

We ordered our rainbow cake and cupcakes from a local bakery ( I ordered the cake to have pastel rainbow layers inside but clearly got primary colors, oh well Sydnie still loved it) and the unicorn ice cream sundaes I made in mason jars with rainbow sherbet ice cream, topped with whip cream, sprinkles and cute candy pieces. The kids loved them!

For party activities the kids decorated “unicorn horns.” Each child had a ice cream cone at their place setting and sprinkles in a little cup. They each put white icing on their cones and stuck all the assorted candies on to make a design. It was fun to see them get creative! For the second activity the kids made candy necklaces. I gave them each a string and I found several different circle shaped candies that they could string on.

All the kids loved the “photo wall” it was super cute to see them giggling and posing for pics with each other. For the wall I bought streamers, Pom poms and “Party” letter ballons then tapped them up, so easy!

I would say this Unicorn party was a huge success. I unfortunately didn’t get a picture of the cute take home goody bags. But they included playdoh, scented markers, bubbles, more candy (sorry moms!) glitter pencils & unicorn stickers.

Happy 6th birthday Sydnie you are truly more magical then unicorns and rainbows & sweeter than all the candy in the world. We love you!
