  • SPRING RICE KRISPIES TREATS

This week the kids are on spring break so we made some fun birds nest Rice Krispies treats. We used the original Rice Krispies recipe right off of the box.

    INGREDIENTS

Edible Grass (Found mine at Target)

    Robin Eggs mini candy

    3 Tablespoons of Butter

1 package (10oz) of the large Marshmallows or 5 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows

6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal

    DIRECTIONS

    1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

    2. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

    3. Instead of adding them to a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan you will add the to a muffin tin coated with cooking spray. Let Cool, then press the middle in with a spoon to form your birds nest.

Now add your edible grass candy and the mini robin eggs candy. The kids loved making and eating these, I hope you do too! SEE THEM HERE ON THE GRAM http://www.instagram.com/reel/C4bQ4GSOtp_/?igsh+MWZpem05cmlwdm9mYw==

    ENJOY!

  • End Of School Year Gift

We love to Celebrate milestones in our family, and this year my daughter Sydnie, completed Elementary and graduated the 5th grade. Not only are we as a family so proud of her! But it’s so fun to see how proud she is of herself and her excitement that she is now on to middle school!

I put together a little 5th grade graduation gift for her on the last day of school. I bought graduation decor from Hobby Lobby. Found a cute card from Marshals that says “You did it”. And picked up store bought cupcakes, that I removed the topping they had and added a pink macaron to match the pink party theme I was going for.

I also put a little gift together that I tied up with some fun yarn and ribbon (ruler ribbon from Hobby Lobby.) It included this white photo album that I also found at Hobby Lobby. We plan to put photos from the entire year of her and her friends, family, memories, accomplishments, ribbons, certificates etc. A water bottle for the hot summer days, and a candy.

This is such a bitter sweet moment, Sydnie is the baby of the family and we won’t have anymore kids in Elementary. My oldest son is already 21 and my middle son is 15. All the more reason to make every moment of childhood special while I can. They grow up way too quick!

  • BACK TO SCHOOL

I can’t believe school has already started! It starts so much earlier here now that we moved to Florida, compared to Washington state. The kids in the past didn’t usually start until after Labor Day weekend. The first week went really well, great teacher and new friends!

Here are some of our favorite back to school finds, I’m use to cooler temps being right around the corner, but I have a feeling it will be warm here until probably November and then still not as cold as we are use to.

You can shop by clicking on the images below.

I hope everyone has a great school year!

  • Summer fun with Nerf

This post was sponsored by Kroger. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of Kroger.Let the games begin! This summer we partnered with Fred Meyer to share our Nerf Fest 2019 favorites for both the kids and our dog.

To beat the heat we filled up the pool in our yard and the kids grabbed their Nerf Super Soakers and started a fun family water war. These are so easy to refill with water and endless fun for everyone!I love seeing and hearing the laughter as the kids run around the yard. Sydnie was quick to grab her brothers Zombiestrike Nailbitter when he came after her with the Nerf Super soaker.

The Zombiestrike Nailbiter has fast firing with no priming, so you can take along the Nerf Zombie Strike Survival System Nailbiter blaster to fight zombies or big brothers. Load the darts into the vertical indexing clip and pull the trigger to fire. The blaster’s 8-dart clip automatically indexes to the next dart and stays attached to the blaster. There’s no need to prime, so zombie fighters can unleash darts fast. The blaster includes 8 Zombie Strike darts. This orange blaster has attachment points for a stock and barrel extension (each sold separately) and a tactical rail. The Nailbiter blaster is designed with fun details that reflect the Zombie Strike story of survivors who are creating battle gear with parts they scrounge from different places.

    It Features:

    • The Nailbiter blaster features fast firing with no priming

    • The blaster has an 8-dart indexing clip

    • Includes 8 Zombie Strike darts

    • Part of the Zombie Strike Survival SystemI was also so excited to find Nerf had dog toys. We couldn’t leave Milo out of the family fun! We grabbed him several different toys but one of his favorites is this Nerf Dog 6in Tire Squeak Football. It provides as much fun for dogs as it does for their owners! The durable rubber body stands up to extended chewing and makes an interactive squeaking sound that dogs love! Great for toss and fetch, or just playing on his own. Who else remembers having a Super Soaker as a kid??? I definitely do! I have loved Nerf for as long as I can remember and had Nerf wars with my brothers when we were kids. It feels so nostalgic seeing my own kids playing with Nerf.

Make sure to check out your local Fred Meyer or Kroger store near you and look for the in store display with the tear pad coupons. Join the Nerf Nation with us this summer and create memories that will last a lifetime!

  • Last day of school summer surprise

The kids have had an amazing school year. They gave it their all and got good grades, they were kind friends and role models to others and they participated in many activities . My middle son in 5th grade received the Student of the Year award and the presidential award and my daughters teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. So I wanted to put together some special summer activity buckets to show these sweet kids how much their hard work and kindness is appreciated and start summer off with some fun!I found several things at good ol Target like these stripe Beach towels , popsicle floatie, ice cream shaped chocolates, glow sticks, glitter for our rock decorating projects, popcorn, pin wheel, Gold sandals for Sydnie, flamingo cup, turquoise metal straw cup & sour patch watermelon candy. From some smaller shops I found the cutest hair clips at Sweet Ellie Mae Shop , a fun rainbow necklace at Coral + Cloud and BlaBla dolls Theo the cat for Elijah and Colette the cat for Sydnie. In Elijah’s bucket I also added the game bocce ball that I found at Homegoods and they each got paper, paints and plastic storage cases for all our summer craft projects. We are ready for some summer fun, long summer nights, s’mores, popsicles, beach days and more.

    Happy Summer!

    Xo – Jamie
